Culture, arts, festivals and events – where do they sit within existing organisational structures

Dear Collegues

I am working with the cultural work stream as part of Local Government Review for North Yorkshire.  I would be keen to hear from Destination partners where Culture sits within their oganisations and also where events and festivals in particular sit?  It would also be useful to understand how events and festivals are determined – visitor economy v resident community etc.

Any support of information colleagues can share would be gratefully appreciated.

We are looking to determine the best model for the area moving forward and would be keen to hear of any pro’s cons.  Cornwall in particular it would be good to hear from in relation to cultural development and where it sits within the organisation
